Peak Reformer Studio is based in the heart of New Mills in Derbyshire. Located in a local beauty spot at the historic Torr Vale Mill. The studio has 6 Merrithew SPX Reformer beds, our classes are kept small and are a full hour in length so you get the best from your session and instructor.

Instructors are all highly trained in the STOTT method, this method was developed by physiotherapists, sports medicine and fitness professionals and makes the STOTT method the most comprehensive, safest and most effective practices possible. Not only great for fitness purposes but also rehab/prehab, pre/post natal and a great addition to your existing training regime or sport.

We can’t stress enough that Reformer Pilates really is for everyone; young to old, new to exercise to the elite athlete, injured to the super fit, every gender and every single body type. Peak Reformer Studio offers Reformer Pilates for all levels and abilities.

Founded by

Peak Reformer Studio was founded by Sarah after her own lengthy injury rehabilitation where the STOTT method and the Reformer played a key role in recovery. Peak Reformer Studio very organically grew from there and we are passionate about helping you feel better, stronger and healthier whatever your goal may be.

The Reformer

At Peak Reformer studio we’ll guide you through how the Reformer works in our intro sessions but here a little more.

Reformer Pilates is becoming increasingly popular but its actually almost 100 years old! The Pilates method was invented by Joseph Pilates himself along with the first Reformer bed in the 1920’s to rehabilitate injured soldiers.

The Reformer is a bed like piece of equipment with a moving carriage in which varying tensioned springs can be added to either assist or resist in over 500+ different adaptable exercises. Ropes and straps are attached to the carriage for the arms, hands, legs or feet to be placed into. The result is a highly versatile piece of equipment and a highly effective form of exercise – exercises can be carried out in, prone, supine, sitting, kneeling, standing and everything in between.
